Soft Tissue Manipulation

What is soft tissue manipulation?
Soft tissue manipulation, also known as soft tissue therapy or soft tissue mobilization, is a technique used in chiropractic care to address issues in the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues of the body. It involves hands-on manipulation and manual techniques aimed at releasing tension, reducing pain, and improving function in the soft tissues.
Here are some common techniques:
Myofascial Release: Involves applying sustained pressure and stretching to release tension and restrictions in the fascia, a connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

Trigger Point Therapy: Involves applying pressure to these trigger points to relieve tension and alleviate pain.

Cupping Therapy: Involves moving the cups along the skin instead of leaving them stationary helping to release tension in the muscles, stimulate blood circulation, enhance lymphatic drainage, and increase range of motion.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM): Involves the use of a handheld instrument that has specific shapes and edges designed to target different areas of the body and provide various therapeutic effects such as improved tissue mobility, increased blood flow and circulation, pain reduction, enhanced tissue healing, and improved athletic performance.
